Network Portability: Multi-Network vs. Isolated Ecosystems

Not every network speaks the same language, so this comes down to whether an interface can talk to more than one at a time. Multi-network portability is the ability of a single interface to read balances and interact across multiple decentralized networks.

Multi-Network

  • Unified Smart Contract Read: one interface queries many networks.
  • Cross-network Connectivity: the interface stays connected to each network independently.
  • Immediate Multi-network Display: balances update across all of them at once.

Isolated Ecosystems

An isolated ecosystem is an environment that locks addresses and assets to a single proprietary protocol, limiting interoperability.

  • Proprietary Address Locking: an address only functions within one protocol.
  • Closed Protocol Constraints: assets cannot move outside that protocol.
  • Limited Ecosystem Access: users are confined to that protocol's tools.

The same distributed keys that take a custodian out of the picture also mean no single protocol gets to act as gatekeeper.
